Artisan Stucco Mortars was founded in 2014 when Mark van Laere and Raquel Rodríguez Puebla recognized the potential of Raquel’s extensive expertise and decided to bring it to the market. Raquel gained deep experience in Spain, designing and applying handcrafted, custom-made lime mortars, primarily in the restoration of historic buildings.
Since then, Raquel has further developed her craft in the Netherlands, working on a wide range of projects in both the private sector and various construction projects. This has allowed her to expand her already extensive knowledge of traditional lime mortars and adapt it to modern construction methods.

With 23 years of experience in the development, design, and application of traditional lime mortars, both in the restoration of historic buildings and in modern architecture, Raquel seamlessly integrates this craft into contemporary construction projects. She ensures that the entire process—from design to completion—meets modern sustainability standards while bringing the architect’s unique vision to life as an essential part of the project.
Raquel works closely with architects and construction companies during the design phase, offering the flexibility to adapt the mortar to meet the decorative and functional needs of the client, the architect, and the project. By personally managing the production process, she guarantees the durability and quality of the final product.

Over the years, Mark has gained extensive knowledge about lime mortars and their applications, enabling him to provide clients with expert advice and guidance on the best products and techniques for their projects.
With 25 years of experience as a self-employed internet consultant, graphic designer, and photographer, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to all aspects of communication. His expertise lies in translating client needs and marketing goals into cohesive and impactful brand identities that resonate with the target audience.
